2015 World Parish Ministry Marathon Award

In August, the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees recognized Dr. Timothy Tennent with the first “World Parish Ministry Marathon” award for his national and international travel and ministry. From June 11-August 10, 2015, Dr. Tennent traveled to 9 states and nations.  In 8 weeks, he traveled 59,669 miles and preached or delivered major addresses in Tanzania, Florida, England, California, Philippines, South Korea, India and New Zealand.  Following in the spirit of John Wesley who said, “The world is my parish,” Dr. Tennent traveled around the world to proclaim the gospel of Christ and represent Asbury Theological Seminary. On behalf of the Board and the Executive Committee, Rev. Dr. Jim Smith presented Dr. Tennent with a plaque to honor him for this outstanding accomplishment.

    We were greatly blessed to have Dr. Tennent minister to us at the Tulsa Merriot Hotel here in Tulsa last month! After hearing him, I was even much more grateful to be a graduate of Asbury Seminary!!!

  3. He leads a global parish right at Wilmore and in his study. Dr. Tennet’s contribution in his writings, travels and leading Asbury Seminary is a great contribution to the global church. A well deserved honor and acknowledgement and pray God will preserve and strengthen him in his work for a long time yet.
