Christian Message of Renewal

In Greece, Paul preached the Christian message of renewal through the Holy Spirit, poured out through the Son of God “so that we might be justified by his grace and become heirs in hope of eternal life” (Titus 3:5-7).  What better place  is there to begin a journey through the chapter’s of Paul’s Ministry for the Kingdom of God than in Greece!

One of the blessings of our modern times is the accessibility to travel abroad.  The ability to travel to the locations where Paul met elders of the church, to the locations of the churches to whom he wrote, and even to visit a crypt where he was imprisoned for the sake of the gospel of the Risen Jesus Christ.  There is a great deal each of us can learn by knowing the regions and cities which our biblical mothers and fathers lived, where they were tested, their faith in the One True God remained steadfast.  By knowing the land we can better know the story.

This fall the Alumni Office will be hosting our first Alumni and Friends Cruise.  We will be exploring much of the land of the New Testament, the land of Paul’s 2nd and 3rd Missionary Journeys.  While on this tour, we will visit the second largest city in the first century C.E., Ephesus.  It is here that Paul was in ministry for three years.  We will travel to one of the seven churches mentioned in Revelation, Pergamum.  Berea is where Paul discovered Jews who believed in the death and resurrection of Jesus who is the Christ, along with a number of prominent Greek women and men (Acts 17:10-12).  These are just a few of the places we will visit on our journey through the lands and waters of Paul’s ministry.  May the Christian message of renewal be reawakened in you through this opportunity.
