Rev. Donald Bastian
On May 10, Rev. Donald N Bastian, bishop emeritus of the Free Methodist Church of North America, received an Arts Acclaim Award from the city of Brampton, Ontario (450,000) along with four other citizens. The award was presented by Mayor Linda Jeffrey.
Bishop Bastian received the award in recognition of his book The Pastor’s First Love: And Other Essays on a High and Holy Calling, published by BPS Books of Toronto. Earlier, the book won a Word Guild Award in 2014 and was nominated for the Grace Irwin Award for the best Christian book of 2014.

We are proud to announce that Brittany Leya Trafton (MDiv, 2012) of Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada, graduated with a Master of Theology degree at Princeton Theological Seminary’s 203rd commencement ceremony, held on Saturday, May 23, 2015. The Master of Theology is an advanced degree beyond the basic professional degree in ministry.
Rev. Dr. Paul Yeun was an Asbury Seminary graduate of 1971 and ’74. He spent 10 years in parish ministry, 20 years in the US Air force Chaplaincy, and is now on his 16th year as a health care chaplain and had been leading medical mission annually since 2006. He and his team will be leaving for the Amazon river in Brazil this July with 18 medical staff, four of them are physicians, one a physician’s assistant, and one a dentist. They will be on the John Wesley Medical boat stopping at different villages each day to treat patients and teach them how to keep themselves healthy through disease prevention classes. Their next year’s mission will be to Nepal. They have treated over 8000 patients thus far holistically, body, mind and spirit. It is a project of his pastoral care department to provide opportunity for medical staff to practice their religious commitment to serve humanity abroad and to enhance their appreciation of cultural diversity.
