Theory and Strategy for Changing Brain Pathways in Distressed Clients

Presentations by Gracia Levin and Michael Rogers

The morning session will be with Gracia Levin and will provide an overview of the theory of DBT, basic information regarding the neurobiology behind emotional reactions and strategies to provide the most effective change of dysfunctional behaviors in treatment.  The afternoon session will be with Michael Rogers and will explore how to integrate mindfulness into your practice. It is designed to provide you with specific resources and tools for working with Christian and non-Christian clients. If you are familiar with mindfulness, this seminar will enable you to refine and deepen your practice. If you are new to mindfulness, you will learn practical integrative methods you can use right away in your work with your clients. The speaker will utilize experiential exercises throughout the afternoon to enhance your learning.

Since not all students can come to campus for a preview, we’re coming to you. Join the Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program each Monday at noon (12:00 p.m.) Eastern Time to learn more.

The eLuncheon will last an hour or less. During the session, you will:

• Chat about your dissertation project

This special Educational Opportunities Tour Cruise will begin in Athens with excursions in Patmos, Ephesus, Miletus, Pergamum, Berea, Thessalonika, Skiathos, and Philippi.  Our final destination will be Istanbul. Two pre-tours as well as a post-tour option are available for those looking for more  tours.  The first pre-tour option includes tours of Ancient Rome and Christian Rome.  The second pre-tour option is a tour of Corinth and Athens.  If you are interested in tagging on a post-tour to your cruise experience, then join us for a tour of Cappadocia.
