All four OneBook tracks are available for fall study!

Published Date: August 27, 2015

This upcoming fall study season is a monumental one for Seedbed, because it marks the first study season in which all four OneBook Bible learning tracks are available for groups to experience together.

Each of these four tracks—Invitation, The Epic of Eden, The Biblical Journey, and The Daily Weekly—are taught by some of Asbury Theological Seminary’s most esteemed past and present professors. Those trusted teachers who influenced you so much during your time at the seminary can now bring their wisdom and perspective into your small group—and even your entire church—through these remarkable studies.

It has always been the vision of OneBook to fill a painful void in the church. For all the “studying” our church members seem to be doing, there hasn’t been much growing to show for it. While our people might know more than when they started, there’s very little life transformation that’s birthed out of the once a week gathering around the study topic.

This is where OneBook sets itself apart—the emphasis isn’t on studying, but on on learning the text. The Greek word that we translate to mean disciple is “mathetes.” The word means learner. Because the word disciple has come to mean so many things to so many people, we have determined to frame the word in its original conception. Critical to the learning objectives of a disciple of Jesus Christ is clarity of outcomes. The goal cannot be reduced to cultivating biblical expertise. The ultimate question underlying our approach is, “who is Jesus calling his disciples to become?” rather than “What do we want people to know?”

We encourage you to check out these studies and pray about whether or not they have a place in your church community. We have several exciting developments on the way, too. (Hint, hint: a mobile app for greater connectivity between group members throughout the week.) Join us in becoming a people of OneBook.
